The Golden Years Meet Silver

The firm grew rapidly during the years of 1986-1995. PDG experienced new ownership, a new name, and 25 Years in Business!

In 1986, Lester H. Poggemeyer, P.E. Inc. was officially changed to Poggemeyer Design Group, Inc., to represent the firm’s expanding services and interdisciplinary approach to problem solving.  PDG continues today using an interdisciplinary approach from project funding to close-out.  Our team of engineers, architects and planners work with our clients to find solutions to complex challenges to continuously improve their communities.

In 1987, PDG was purchased by the then current key management team of Jack Jones, Charlene Kerr, Otto Gerdeman, and Larry Carroll.

With a strong management team in place, PDG continued to grow.  Groundbreaking for construction of a new $1.2 million Corporate Headquarters in Bowling Green, Ohio, was held on August 8, 1990. PDG staff moved into the new building in the Spring of 1991.  An Open House was held on May 29, 1991, inviting clients and friends to see our new offices.  The two-story, 17,000 sq.ft. building continues as PDG Headquarters today.

PDG’s 25th year was definitely a year of celebration! We constructed a new Western Regional Office in Las Vegas and purchased a building to expand PDG operations in the City of Defiance, Ohio. PDG was also recognized as one of the nation’s Top 500 Firms.
