PDG Hosts Open House to Celebrate 50 Years of Designing Solutions

Poggemeyer Design Group, Inc. celebrated 50 years of designing solutions at an Open House on June 21, 2018, at their Bowling Green Eastern Region Headquarters.  Over 250 staff, community leaders, and friends were on hand to commemorate this important milestone.  Commendations were presented by The Honorable Randy Gardner, Ohio State Senator; The Honorable Theresa Gavarone, Ohio State Representative; The Honorable Doris Herringshaw and The Honorable Ted Bowlus; Wood County Commissioners; and The Honorable Richard Edwards, Mayor of the City of Bowling Green.  Mr. Bill Wirt, representing The Honorable Robert Latta, US Representative, presented a flag that had been flown over the US Capitol Building.  Commendations were sent by The Honorable John Kasich, Ohio Governor; The Honorable Mary Taylor; Ohio Lieutenant Governor; and The Honorable John Husted, Ohio Secretary of State.

On March 16, 1968, Lester H. Poggemeyer, P.E. opened an office in Bowling Green, Ohio. In 1986, the name was officially changed to Poggemeyer Design Group, Inc (PDG). Between 1975 and 1985, PDG opened offices in Lexington, Defiance, and Columbus, Ohio.  Offices in Las Vegas, Nevada; and Monroe, Michigan, were also opened during this time.  In 1987 Lester Poggemeyer sold the firm to four partners, two of which are still active today.  In 1991, PDG constructed a new, two-story, 17,000 sq.ft. building, which was expanded to 33,000 sq.ft. in 1996.

PDG became an Employee-Owned Company in 2005 and today employs 210 members, registered in 30 states, with 12 offices in Ohio, Michigan, Georgia, and Nevada.  PDG subsidiaries include Industrial Fluid Management (IFM), with offices in McComb and Hilliard, Ohio; providing water and wastewater services to public and private clients; and CM Works, located in Las Vegas, offering construction management services.

PDG provides environmental, transportation, structural, and civil engineering; architectural; planning; and survey services to over 400 public and private sector clients annually in 34 states.  The firm has helped clients obtain over $1.2 billion in grants and low-interest loans.
