Meet Andrew Brock, P.E., Our Latest Employee Spotlight

Andrew joined PDG in January of 2017 as an engineer in our structural department. Mr. Brock is one of our primary structural design engineers for industrial and commercial projects.  He designs structural building systems, prepares plans and specifications, and reviews contractor submittals.  His designs include structural steel, masonry, wood and concrete structures.  He coordinates with architects and other discipline engineers to ensure the building construction is a success.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Brock gained extensive structural and architectural engineering experience in the military as a design engineer.

Most Notable Item in My Office – A 3D printed axle from an axle manufacturing plant I designed.

Born In – Mentor, Ohio

In My Spare Time – I like to workout, run, and play with my dog Lucy, a plott hound mix puppy that I rescued from the Toledo Area Humane Society.

Design Philosophy/Passion/Area of Specialty – Structural Engineering, inspections and emergency response

If Not in the Engineering Field, I Would Be...  A drummer in a band. 

Favorite Technological Gadget – Cell phone for sure–it can do everything!

Favorite Time of Day – Morning. When I workout and start work. 

What has been your favorite project and why?  Tornado response in Celina, Ohio. Worked quickly to save the facility and along-side ironworkers.

What inspired you to become an engineer?   Playing with Lego’s as a kid.

What has been your most satisfying experience on the job?  Seeing customer’s/client’s satisfaction when my design perfectly meets their intent and vision.
