New Grant Program Offering $250M for Water and Sewer Projects
Ohio Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Grant Program
Guidelines were released Friday for HB168 providing $250M for Water and Sewer Infrastructure for Ohio. It is a one-time only opportunity to secure this funding.
Funds can be used for Design (up to $250K request) or Construction (up to $5M request). Your County Engineer will be playing an important role in this process and will award priority points to projects being submitted from the county.
Projects extending water or sewer service, addressing water quality or public health concerns, addressing regionalization, are ready to proceed or are within an economically disadvantaged community appear to score especially well within the state’s defined scoring criteria. County Engineers will also review projects and award priority points. A local match WILL be required, however a required minimum match has not been identified. ARPA funds can serve as a match as well as WSRLF or WPCLF if the project was nominated and on the intended projects list. Local funds can be used as match as well.
Many County Engineers have not set a due date yet or requirements for submitting the project information, but now is definitely the time to start planning. But applications may be due as early as August 6th according to early discussions.
